Opportunities To Impact All Our Futures
The GCDP is doubling our 2018 budget to fund our 2019/2020 county campaign expenses. Running a county party campaign requires volunteers and funding. We have expenses we must pay: our 2020 county convention and primary election; professional Field Operations Director; dedicated/paid block walkers; equipment rental, utilities, internet access, and legal fees for a election headquarters; mailing thousands of applications for voting by mail; door hangers for canvassing; additional GCDP yard signs; paying fees for voter outreach tools like Hustle; and paying our monthly bills for PO Box, websites, banking fees, etc.
To cover most of the budget, we need sustaining (monthly) donations. We need the equivalent of either 200 supporters donating an average of $20 a month, OR 100 supporters donating an average of $40 a month. We are currently at about 20% of our 2020 goal. Start your monthly donations now.
We also need an individual to lead the counties fund raising efforts and events.

We need a full slate candidates for all 2020 positions by the deadline in November. Only lawyers can run for judgeship positions. Training is available locally and on-line. Here is the list of county elected officials - not all will be on the ballot in 2020. Click on the related link for details about the office. For those who are considering running and have the time for serious campaigning, volunteer here, or contact our GCDP Chairman.
We already have two candidates for Congress, TX14, for a contested primary, Sanjanetta Barnes and Adrienne Bell. We also need candidates for Texas Senate, SD11, and the Texas Legislature, HD23 & HD24.
We need to register new voters or help them update their current registration across the county. We need one volunteer to lead and organize voter registration events from now until the month before the 2020 election.
We need double the number of precinct chairs across the county before the end of October. If you’d like to serve as the local representative for the other Democrats in your precinct, volunteer here.
We need hundreds of volunteers confirmed by the end of March, 2020. It takes a lot of work to mobilize an additional 16,000 to 20,000 Dem-leaning voters and our base to go vote in 2020. Help increase voter turnout, volunteer here.
We also need an individual to organize volunteer outreach to get volunteers to re-commit some of their time for electing Democrats. This individual would also lead the effort to double our number of precinct chairs.
